Bush To Lead Inquiry into Katrina

President Bush said today he would lead the inquiry into the government’s response to Katrina.

Will Karl Rove and Dick Cheney serve as principles on the investigative team?

It seems that history would lead the president to select someone other than himself.  Would it have been a good idea for Nixon to have led any investigations into allegations against him?

Demonstration of Can Do

The Times-Picayune (TP) has an open letter to President Bush, that appears to be more of a spanking than a letter. The TP points out that Wal-Mart had a caravan of 13 trucks moving into New Orleans Thursday morning, when FEMA Director Michael Brown did not have a clue what was occurring in the city, much less relief on the way.

It seems to me, the President and Michael Brown should be required to answer the question, how and why can Wal-Mart do what the federal government is responsible for and did not do.

Governor Blanc not in President Bush’s Rolodex

I was out most of yesterday and Sunday due to illness…looks like I missed plenty of hot spots and have some catching up to do.

It appears the White House is marching to the beat of its own drum and the governor of Louisiana isn’t in the parade.  Despite contradiction from the White House, Gov. Blanc apparently was left out of the president’s initial plan to visit La. Monday until the governor called the president and asked what’s up.

No surprise here.  It looks like a Karl Rove spun plan to put the president in the spotlight and have the governor appear MIA; one working and the other not.

Rove has some work on his hands to insure none of the Louisiana mud gets splattered on the president riding in on his white horse, suit and 10-gallon hat.
