Time Omits Bush in Katrina Break Down Analysis

I just read Time’s lengthy analysis on where things broke down with Katrina. It is more in depth, and maybe less politically aligned than Newsweek’s article. Time focus on four areas: (1) the Mayor, (2) the Governor, (3) the Director, and (4) the Secretary of Homeland Security.

On a daily basis, report after report, TV segment after segment, op-ed after op-ed, there has been considerable focus, if not the majority, on the President and his handling (or not) of the disaster. So, why did Time choose not to include a section on the President?

Is Time afraid of the rath of Karl Rove? Is it possible that the absence of an analysis on the President can be tied to Plamegate? Plamegate has been rather quiet lately. Remember the dealings between Matthew Cooper, Time’s Washington Bureau Chief, and Karl Rove?

Although Time devoted energy to Chertoff, DHS, that doesn’t by default include a review of the Oval Office. Not by a long shot.
