Two shot, one dead.
From Reuters:
Gunmen opened fire on a car carrying two lawyers defending some of
Saddam Hussein’s co-defendants in a trial for crimes against humanity,
killing one and wounding the other, police and defence team sources
said.
Tuesday’s attack followed the murder of another defence lawyer in
the team, Saadoun al-Janabi, who was shot the day after the trial
started in Baghdad last month.

Vox Populi is now The Political Chase.
A new name accompanies the redesign of the Web site. Vox Populi can cover opinions on any topic, which was the original intent, but for quite some time the focus has been political. Given that, I thought a name more reflective of the content would be appropriate. I thought it was also reflective of the intangible aspect of the site - the work and spirit.
Politics is a chase, whether you are commenting, researching, reporting, or participating (as in a politician).
The site address has changed, but for now, there should not be any required changes on your end (e.g., links, bookmarks, favorites, syndication feeds, etc.). If you do want to make changes, the new address is:
http://www.politicalchase.com
If you experience a problem with the syndication feeds (e.g., RSS, ATOM) or any other issue, please let me know by clicking here or send an email to comments at politicalchase.com.
I am looking at some additional changes, like membership (personal logins), etc. Other sites like Daily Kos and Talking Points Memo have similar features; I just need to do more research on the feasibility of the extra bells and whistles.
If you have any suggestions or specific items you would like available, please let me know. Simple or complex - it doesn’t matter. For example - you would like an option to email a single post from the front page rather than selecting comment, then the email option. Or, eliminate those features from the front page because it reduces clutter and makes each entry easier to read.
I appreciate each reader and sincerely hope your interests and needs are being met.

The advertisements have not gone away with the new changes…they will return tomorrow. Sponsorship is very important, but some basic changes related to the name change, etc. have to be put in place first.
When they return, please take a moment to visit the sponsors…they help to make this site possible.
