Damned if you do and damned if you don’t

In spite of being disgraced thoughout the world, President Bad Ass continued threatening Iran today.  Has this man absolutely no self-pride? Now, he’s issuing threats about a program that hasn’t existed for more than four years. Bush’s threats were bad enough when the world-at-large didn’t have unequivocal proof that his threats were baseless. Many did, but not the general populous.

Yesterday Bush said his carrots and sticks approach had worked, blah, blah, blah. Now, what is Iran supposed to think when they reportedly abandoned their nuclear weapons program in 2003 because of international pressure, and President Bad Ass issues more threats for Iran doing what they were asked to do four years ago?

Let’s see…you beat your war drums if I pursue nuclear weapons, and you beat your war drums long after I stopped, as you asked. Yep, I think I’ll start my nuclear weapons program back up to protect myself because you’re going kick my butt regardless of what I do.

It is clear from the NIE that the Iranian government has more to explain about its nuclear intentions and past actions, especially the covert nuclear weapon program pursued until the fall of 2003, which the Iranian regime has yet to acknowledge.

The Iranians have a strategic choice to make. They can come clean with the international community about the scope of their nuclear activities and fully accept the long-standing offer to suspend their enrichment program and come to the table and negotiate or they can contine on a path of isolation that is not in the best interest of the Iranian people. The choice is up to the Iranian regime.
