Obama moves up in daily poll
Obama is moving back up in the Gallup daily poll. Today the candidates are in a virtual tie with Clinton at 47% and and Obama at 45%.
Earlier in the week, Clinton had moved to a seven-point lead, which was after the Wright dust-up, but before Obama gave his speech. Today’s results include polling done on the day of the speech and after.
There is a lot of noise in the day-to-day polling, therefore no real conclusions can be made with the results from one day. But based on long-term trends and the date range of this poll (Mar. 18 - 20), it may indicate the speech helped.
Based on past polling shown in the graph, it would be hard to argue the dust-up did not have a negative impact.
