My friends, this is unfit — the Bush administration’s Veteran Affairs telling hospitals to not diagnose PTSD because of the increased number of “compensation seeking veterans.” That’s the Republicans’ approach to supporting the troops and defending our national security — sending soldiers back into battle when they need medical treatment.
Bush and McCain are inseparable. Remember, John McCain opposed Jim Webb’s GI Bill because it was too expensive to give veterans the same benefits they had 60 years ago. But they can send them to fight in a war over oil that costs $9 - $10 billion per month.

Joe Biden on Bush’s remarks earlier today.
“This is bullsh**t. This is malarkey. This is outrageous. Outrageous for the president of the United States to go to a foreign country, sit in the Knesset…and make this kind of ridiculous statement,” Biden said angrily in a brief interview just off the Senate floor.

It is time to take Joe Lieberman’s chairmanship away and throw him out of the party.

McCain says Obama is not fit to defend the country because Obama is willing to meet with Iran.
“I think [it] is an unacceptable position, and shows that Senator Obama does not have the knowledge, the experience, the background to make the kind of judgments that are necessary to preserve this nation’s security.”
Obama has said he is willing to meet with the leaders of Iran. He has not promised to meet Iran, but even if he had promised, that’s not the issue. The issue is McCain’s insistence to not. He’s already closing the door on options when he doesn’t have a clue what the options are. If that’s not George III, I don’t know what is.
I would like McSame to provide evidence to support his assertion, but of course he won’t. Not because he can’t prove a negative, but because he hasn’t the faintest clue what he’s talking about. So, let’s turn it around on John McSame. How does he propose resolving Iraq without including Iran in any discussions?
McCain doesn’t even have a plan for Iraq, except to be there 100 to 1 million years. He offered a “vision” this morning of an America in 2013 that has “welcomed home most of the servicemen and women.” McCain concluded his vision with, “the Iraq War has been won,” but added, “the United States maintains a military presence there.”
My friends, a vision is neither a plan nor a strategy. No plan, no definition of what winning is, nor what may be required to “win.” But he’s got a vision, just like George Bush has had for more than seven years.
Iran is not our greatest threat. It should be watched carefully, but this political rhetoric from Bush and McCain about Iran is ridiculous. The enemy is al-Qaeda. And John McCain and George Bush chose to forget al-Qaeda in 2002.
Mr. McCain has demonstrated his judgment on national security many times over. He doesn’t even know who we’re fighting, or what country the real enemy, al-Qaeda, resides in.

If it is an election year, gay marriage is going to be an issue. From the New York Times:
Same-sex couples have a constitutional right to marry, the California Supreme Court ruled Thursday.
The court’s 4-to-3 decision striking down state laws that had limited marriages to unions between a man and a woman makes California only the second state, after Massachusetts, to allow same-sex marriages. The decision, which becomes effective in 30 days, is certain to play a role in the presidential campaign.

Of course John McSame agrees with George Bush.
Senator John McCain, who has been critical of President Bush on the environment and other policies this week, on Thursday morning wholeheartedly endorsed Mr. Bush’s veiled rebuke in the Israeli Knesset of Senator Barack Obama that talking to “terrorists and radicals’’ was no different than appeasing Hitler and the Nazis. . . .
“I think that Barack Obama needs to explain why he wants to sit down and talk with a man who is the head of a government that is a state sponsor of terrorism, that is responsible for the killing of brave young Americans, that wants to wipe Israel off the map, who denies the Holocaust. That’s what I think Senator Obama ought to explain to the American people.’’

If you missed Jon Stewart’s report on the West Virginia primary elections, you should watch it. Not only is it hilarious, but it hits squarely at the truth — why W.V. voted the way it did and media coverage of the event.
The media says the voters are racist, but they never use the word. Instead they report Clinton won with white voters overwhelming in an array of demographics. Stewart gets to the point and says what the news networks will not.
Starting at about 0:50 in the video, Stewart begins to analyze the election and illustrates it with video of three West Virginian women (extremely funny).
The best part comes at approximately 6:00 with an exchange between Chris Matthews and Terry McAuliffe.

Every day George Bush continues to be president is just another day of him demonstrating to the world that he has no intellect, ethics, morals, or respect for the American people. Bush’s attack on Obama today was insulting, disrespectful, and without merit. He stooped so low as to equate Obama to Neville Chamberlin and terrorism to Adolph Hitler’s Nazism, which ultimately led to the death of 70 million people.
Bush mockingly said Barack Obama could not persuade terrorists with some “ingenious argument.” Just a minute. George Bush is not capable of anything ingenious, period. Therefore, how does he know what superior intellect and creativity may bring about? Not by experience, that’s for sure.
Moreover, George Bush is the last person that should be criticizing anybody for negotiating with terrorists. What about his negotiations with Muammar Gaddafi?
And where exactly does George Bush get the idea that Obama intends to break ties with Israel? Obama, to my knowledge, has never said he intended to break ties with Israel. In fact, this is as lame an argument as Bush could possibly make.
First, Bush makes the terrorist statement based on a twisted and distorted version of Obama’s foreign policy, that when reduced to Bush’s level is not Obama’s foreign policy at all. The Bush Redux is, Obama will establish ties with anybody (including terrorists), but then contradicts his Redux and says Obama will break ties with Israel. Assuming the Bush Redux is correct, which it is not, he cannot have it both ways – ties with terrorists and no diplomatic ties with Israel.
Bush just proved he has no critical thinking skills and that his genius is anything but that.
The American people can’t stand Bush – only 15 percent believe he has the country headed in the right direction. Does he really think people believe anything he has to say?
