From the AP:
Democrat John Edwards has given his long-awaited endorsement to Barack Obama.
It’s a major boost from a former presidential rival as Obama tries to shrug off Hillary Rodham Clinton, who is determined to press ahead.
Edwards was to appear with Obama in Grand Rapids, Mich., as Obama campaigns in a critical general election battleground.

When pressured on who he voted for in the North Carolina primary, John Edwards said, "I just voted for him on Tuesday."
There’s no doubt about the "him" part. The question is, was it a slip, or a subtle announcement?
Watch the video.

John Edwards is scheduled to be on Jay Leno tonight.
I don’t believe Edwards would announce an endorsement on Leno as it would lessen the significance (a la Fred Thompson). But his appearance could be a promo follow-up for an announcement made during the day.

(Update below)
Barack Obama was scheduled to meet with John Edwards today, but apparently the meeting was canceled due to a severe case of paparazzi syndrome.
Greg Sargent spoke with an Edward’s aide today, but was not given a specific reason why the meeting was canceled; however, The Caucus indicates media frenzy was the salient factor.
Senator Barack [...]

This is a video put together by some of John Edwards core campaign workers and posted by JCNCNY at Edwards’ site.
I was an Edwards’ campaign volunteer and it certainly brought a few emotions to the surface. For those that have ever worked on a campaign because they believed, you’ll easily understand why.

Former Sen. John Edwards
(Update I, Update II below)
If the Washington punditry has been right about anything, they accurately predicted that the early start of the 2008 campaigns would result in substantially greater negativity from the candidates’ camps, and that the normally recognized "pleasantries-only" grace period would be significantly reduced. Democrats, with the exception [...]

I want to get this out before the media blitz takes off like it was covering Anna Nicole Smith again or Britney Spears today.
For two days I have been working on a piece about John Edwards that focuses primarily on lack of media coverage, and a recent positive increase in polls and voter perception. I [...]

Former Sen. John Edwards
While Barack Obama has a nine-point lead in Iowa, and conventional wisdom puts the focus on Obama and Clinton, I see it as anything but a two-person race. John Edwards is still very much in the game in Iowa, especially if you consider what the majority of the media doesn’t tell [...]

It’s not a direct endorsement from Iowa’s governor, but it might as well be.
Iowa’s first lady, who had said she would stay neutral in the presidential race, has changed her mind and plans to endorse Democrat John Edwards Monday.
"I decided to join in the fray," Mari Culver said in an interview today.
Culver [...]

Dana Milbank - The Perfect Journalist
Dana Milbank has a piece on John Edwards in yesterday’s Washington Post that is without a doubt the most pedestrian, harshest, unprofessional, baseless, character assassination, I have ever read in any major news media outlet. Milbank’s lies and mudslinging have put him at a level which will require [...]

How will Hillary Clinton’s campaign respond to this serious issue? On Morning Joe today, John Edwards made the astonishing revelation that in kindergarten he aspired to be Superman or a cowboy.

Ten state chapters of the labor union SEIU (includes key state of Iowa) endorsed John Edwards yesterday. Barack Obama was endorsed by the SEIU’s Illinois chapter.
